The PIR40-3 Solar-Powered Passive Infra Red Sensor Post enables remote detection of activity up to three km from
the monitoring location. The post has three PIR sensors, providing linear detection coverage of 80m.
Sensor posts may be grouped to protect areas or assets such as aircraft or buildings, or used in lines to augment
existing fences and provide a secondary or early warning of intrusion. Each sensor post has a unique identification
number, which is transmitted with the alarm message. The post provides alarm on low power and tamper if the post
is moved.
PIR processing compensates for temperature and provides a high level of false alarm immunity. The radio message
from the post may be received by the PIRX-V155, or via other systems and radio receivers. The internal batteries are
charged using built-in solar cells. Typically in most areas of the world this will provide all the power requirements.
The sensor post is ideally suited to applications that require rapid semi-permanent protection of areas or assets where
local power and services are not readily available.
